HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR

CENTRA CAM VOCATIONAL TRAINING ASSOCIATION/CENTRA CAM SOCIAL ENTERPRISE LTD.

Centra Cam Vocational Training Association (CCVTA) is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing services to Adults with disabilities. Centra Cam Social Enterprise LTD (CCSEL)is a separate division with the goal of raising funds to support CCVTA programs through the creation and management of various social enterprise ventures which provide a variety of services within our community. Each division has a distinct Management Team and a separate Board of Directors.

This position coordinates the organization's human resource services by planning, implementing and evaluating human resource policies, programs and practices for both CCVTA and CCSEL. Our goal is a positive work environment to motivate and engage our team members and to support employee satisfaction and retention through an effective, proactive human resource strategy.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating the development, implementation, and maintenance of the CCVTA safety program, as well as acting as a back-up to input or payroll or complete time sensitive payroll related administration duties in the absence of the Financial Coordinator.

Duties:
- In collaboration with each Management team and Board of Directors, develop the Human Resource Plan and Personnel Polices for each division
- Take the lead role to support employee recruitment, hiring and general orientation
- Develop and maintain job postings, job descriptions, interview questions, and evaluations
- Support Coordinators with onboarding and performance management processes
- Oversee, monitor and provide information on the Employee Health Benefit program
- Create, review and update Human Resource procedures
- Create, review and update the CCVTA Safety department procedures and participate in Joint Health and Safety committee meetings.
- Direct supervision and evaluation of CCVTA Safety Department staff
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding procedures, policies, processes and available resources
- Conduct exit interviews and oversee the employee off-boarding process
- Assist with employee progressive disciplinary action and/or terminations
- Assist with employee and client training
- Personnel file maintenance (hard copy and electronic)
- Participate in committees as needed
- Administration duties as assigned
- Work as part of the Management Team

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experienced in providing Human Resource and Health and Safety program services
- Formal Education in Human Resource Management or a related field of study
- CPHR designation or working towards is considered an asset
- Formal Education and/or experience in the Human Services field is an asset
- Strong knowledge of WCB, Employment Standards and OHS legislation
- Experience/training in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset
- Knowledge/understanding of the Health and Safety Management System COR audit process
- Supervisory Training and/or experience
- Advanced computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and experience using a database
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrating strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong management, interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of individuals
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid driver's license and reliable insured/registered vehicle are required
- Acceptable Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector
- First Aid/CPR training is an asset
- Acceptable Five-Year Driver's abstract

Wages are dependent on qualifications, formal education & experience (7.5 hr/day).

Centra Cam offers extended health and dental benefits after 3 months of successful employment; all other required benefit coverage will be at the successful candidate's expense.
