ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT 2 - COMMUNITY SERVICES

The City of Camrose is seeking an Administrative Support 2 - Community Services to provide scheduling / booking administration and office support to the Community Services Department.

The successful applicant must demonstrate a professional, customer service based approach, be able to work independently in a team environment, and have excellent organizational skills.

FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (but not limited to):
- Responsible for overall management and implementation of scheduling/booking processes of all Community Services facilities.
- Assist with the organizing of special events and responsible for bookings of facilities.
- On-going liaison with facility user groups from a scheduling perspective.
- Provide customer service and reception support to the Community Services Department.
- Maintains the City's Digital Action Tracking System (DATS) for the Community Services Department including but not limited to: uploading training certificates, running reports as required, etc.
- Provide backup office support for the Community Services Team and assist Office Supervisor with general office duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Post-secondary courses in office administration and customer service training considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Serenic, PerfectMind, Access and Laserfiche software considered an asset.
- Ability to effectively adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives.
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and written.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Class 5 driver's abstract and Police Information Check.

HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Camrose Women's Shelter Society (CWSS) operates a 22 bed facility that offers services in support of women and children requiring emergency shelter due to domestic violence, crisis situations or homelessness. We are currently recruiting for the following position:

CASUAL CRISIS INTERVENTION WORKER (CIW)
Classification: Union position under CUPE Local 1425

Required Qualifications
- Preference given to candidates with a degree or diploma in Human Services or related disciplines, and/or related experience working in a shelter or crisis oriented field.
- Preferred applicants have compassion and have previous work experience with victims of domestic violence, with families, women's programs or have experience with residential programs.

Description
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Casual CIW is a compassionate and understanding candidate who has professional values, with a firm understanding and knowledge of the impacts of domestic violence and homelessness on women and children. The successful candidate will be required to work various shifts, including weekends and overnights; also required to complete meal preparation, house cleaning and light maintenance on each shift. Candidates are equipped with skills used to assess crisis calls, provide referrals and advocacy, basic empowerment counseling, promote life skills, and group facilitation.

Our Shelter maintains a policy of Trauma Informed Practice (TIP), which means having an awareness of trauma and its impacts, including speaking, acting and existing in ways that are least likely to trigger or further harm those who have experienced trauma. A trauma informed stance means applying the "universal caution" or approaching every individual as though they have experienced trauma.

Description:

Preferred applicants plan and implement age-appropriate play and supportive programming for children. Activities may include crafts, outings, sports, exercise, games and learning opportunities. The Worker provides care and maintenance of children's equipment, including cleaning duties. Ongoing file documentation is required. The applicant must be prepared to provide childcare for a variety of ages, have compassion, and have experience working with families.

DUTIES/RESPONSBILITIES (but not limited to):
- Various administrative duties including data entry, typing informations, court documents, processing collisions and operational files.
- Receiving, recording and dispatching complaints received from the public and relaying information by radio.
- Dispatching emergency/non-emergency calls to Police Officers, Bylaw Officers and Fire Departments using computer aided dispatch (CAD).

SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Working nights and dayshifts including weekends and holidays.
- Work on short notice and overtime to meet operational needs.
- Will experience crisis situations and must have the ability to multi-task during these events. These tasks include taking phone calls, relaying information to responders, conducting database queries, listening/responding to radio traffic all while remaining calm.
- Will experience fatigue working 10-12 hour night and dayshifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Ability to type 50 words per minute.

Description:

- Provides support for data maintenance, content administration, quality assurance/quality control, data dissemination, documentation, spatial analysis, and map production (including custom map output).

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Geographic Information Systems or in the process of achieving.
- GIS Database integration considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class A Member of the PGA of Canada in good standing is an asset or equivalent Golf Course and Recreation management experience.

- Effectively adapting to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives.

HOURS OF WORK: The base hours of work for this position equate to 37.5 hours per week, working on a flex schedule to accommodate busy time of the golf operations during the golf season. Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30 with two fifteen minute coffee breaks, and a one-hour lunch break during the non-golf season. Please note, additional hours will be required during the golf season. The additional hours will apply to this positions schedule during the non-golf season and will reduce the hours accordingly.

This HET will work a 7/7rotation (Wednesday to Tuesday) based out of our Camrose Shop that is motivated, committed and wants to grow with us.

Technicians in our Central Region will earn a base rate of $46.03 - 48.45/hour. In a regularly schedule rotation (7/7) the tech will work 168 hours. 80 of those hours are paid at regular time, and 88 are paid at overtime.

The Job
- Check dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance of all major brands (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, Hitachi)
- Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications
