Employment Opportunity - ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT 4 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING The City of Camrose is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and reliable individual to fill the role of Administrative Support 4 - Community Development, Planning. Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Development, this position covers a wide range of planning and development and customer support duties for development permits, subdivisions, road closures, redistricting applications, and similar projects. The successful proponent will also be responsible for making decisions on some development permits. FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (but not limited to): - Provide administrative support to the Manager of Planning and Development and General Manager of Community Development. - Assist with drafting and preparing reports, agendas, and meeting minutes for Council and committees. - Coordinate land use amendments, redistricting applications, road closures, and disposal of municipal reserve applications. - Research and support land development applications. - Respond to inquiries from the public regarding application requirements, permit processes, and approval times. - Organize and assist with public engagement events, including open houses. - Review, track and approve sign permit applications. - Maintain records, input data and generate quarterly and annual reports. - Create and maintain project pages, graphics, and mapping for department initiatives. - Compliance and enforcement duties, and other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. - Post-secondary education in office administration, business management, or legal services preferred. - An undergraduate degree in planning, geography, political science, sociology, environmental science, or a related field is considered an asset. - Minimum five (5) years professional experience with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning. - General knowledge of Development Permit application, review, and approval process. - Working knowledge of construction terms and ability to interpret and explain the Land Use Bylaw. - General knowledge of the Municipal Government Act of Alberta and other legislation, bylaws, regulations, subdivisions, and policies related to planning and development. - Previous experience with GIS and/or permitting software is considered an asset. - Familiarity with Alberta Land Titles databases is considered an asset. - Graphic design skills are considered an asset. - Specialist in Microsoft Office with excellence in Microsoft Word and Excel. HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Employment Opportunity - ERP SYSTEM REPLACEMENT PROJECT POSITIONS The City of Camrose is seeking the following positions to join the City of Camrose's ERP System Replacement Project Team! - Business Analyst - System Analyst - Project/Communications Assistant The successful candidates will possess strong analytical and communication skills combined with experience from similar projects and within areas such as project communication, coordination of testing and training activities, data migration and general project management. The particular duties of each role will be adjusted to meet the skill sets of the candidates to maximize each individuals' contribution to the project. The positions will have a term through December 31, 2025. The ERP Replacement Project commenced in November, 2023. The software solutions (UNIT4 and MUNIvers) were selected in June, 2024 and the design and build of the software solution is currently ongoing. The project is comprised of two phases. Phase I has a deadline of December 31, 2025 and will include core/base finance and HR functionality. Phase II is expected to be initiated and completed in 2026 and will include various modules and improvements not completed during Phase I. Reporting to the General Manager of Financial Services these positions will ensure project goals are met within respective areas and will allow the City to meet project timelines and goals. Preference will be given to candidates that are able to work onsite at the City of Camrose to help foster our team environment and accommodate impromptu in-person project meetings / discussions. Employment Opportunity - ERP SYSTEM REPLACEMENT PROJECT POSITIONS The City of Camrose is seeking the following positions to join the City of Camrose's ERP System Replacement Project Team! - Business Analyst - System Analyst - Project/Communications Assistant The successful candidates will possess strong analytical and communication skills combined with experience from similar projects and within areas such as project communication, coordination of testing and training activities, data migration and general project management. The particular duties of each role will be adjusted to meet the skill sets of the candidates to maximize each individuals' contribution to the project. The positions will have a term through December 31, 2025. The ERP Replacement Project commenced in November, 2023. The software solutions (UNIT4 and MUNIvers) were selected in June, 2024 and the design and build of the software solution is currently ongoing. The project is comprised of two phases. Phase I has a deadline of December 31, 2025 and will include core/base finance and HR functionality. Phase II is expected to be initiated and completed in 2026 and will include various modules and improvements not completed during Phase I. Reporting to the General Manager of Financial Services these positions will ensure project goals are met within respective areas and will allow the City to meet project timelines and goals. Preference will be given to candidates that are able to work onsite at the City of Camrose to help foster our team environment and accommodate impromptu in-person project meetings / discussions. FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (but not limited to): - Overseeing and coordinating testing activities including creating test plans, managing test cases and working with Leads to ensure software quality. - Coordinating development of end-user materials together with Leads and Subject Matter experts that will allow the users of the system to easily access information on how to use the system. - Prepare and coordinate project communications in accordance with the Communications Plan to various user groups and stakeholders. - Assist and/or Lead areas of project dependent upon prior experience – potential areas include banking, projects, fixed assets and/or other areas. - Assisting with project coordination activities. - All other relevant duties as assigned. FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (but not limited to): - Assist in the following duties and tasks: sanitary sewer cleaning, sewer manhole inspections, sanitary sewer root control program, excavation and repair of broken sanitary sewer mains and water mains and services, labourer for vac truck and water truck, valve operations, hydrant flushing/unidirectional flushing (UDF) program, hydrant repairs, valve operations, chemical handling, meter reading and meter service work. - Assist in maintenance of hydrants, valves, utilities and infrastructure buildings and assets. - Perform yard maintenance (grass and weed control, snow removal). - Perform basic manual labour using hands or common labour tools, complex handheld and affixed power tools and machines, light maintenance to equipment and vehicles. - Assist in water treatment and wastewater treatment duties as directed and supervised. - Communicate effectively with members of the public, users and other employees. - Assistance with other City operation functions as necessary and assigned.
