WATER SLIDE ATTENDANTS

The Camrose Police Service is accepting applications to fill casual positions in the Communications/Dispatch Centre. These positions will require the successful candidates to have a flexible schedule and the ability to come to work on short notice.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, this position provides support to the public, Police Service members, Bylaw Officers and City/County Fire Departments.

DUTIES/RESPONSBILITIES (but not limited to):
- Various administrative duties including data entry, typing informations, court documents, processing collisions and operational files.
- Receiving, recording and dispatching complaints received from the public and relaying information by radio.
- Dispatching emergency/non-emergency calls to Police Officers, Bylaw Officers and Fire Departments using computer aided dispatch (CAD).

SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Working nights and dayshifts including weekends and holidays.
- Work on short notice and overtime to meet operational needs.
- Will experience crisis situations and must have the ability to multi-task during these events. These tasks include taking phone calls, relaying information to responders, conducting database queries, listening/responding to radio traffic all while remaining calm.
- Will experience fatigue working 10-12 hour night and dayshifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Ability to type 50 words per minute.
- Ability to multi-task while using a 2-way radio system in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to deal with the public and other agencies in a friendly, courteous manner.
Due to the nature of this position and requirement for attention to detail in a high stressed environment, a suitability test may be conducted.

Job Description
- Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on PTAC/HVAC equipment, furniture/cabinetry, appliances, light fixtures, electrical and plumbing.

- Troubleshoot various technical devices such as key card systems, internet equipment, television equipment, etc.

Requirements

Supervisor of Control Systems
SUPERVISOR OF CONTROL SYSTEMS

The City of Camrose is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time permanent role of Supervisor of Control Systems. This positon will be responsible for providing a wide variety of Electrical and Instrumentation installations, maintenance and systems integration throughout the City.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
Water and Waste Water Systems
- Install, program and maintain of all PLCís, HMIís and SCADA control systems, in control of pumping and treatment facilities.
- Install and maintain all measurement devices and controlled equipment such as actuators, variable frequency drives, soft starts, motor control centres.
- Install and maintain electrical infrastructure from changing ballasts to installing panels, including large-scale installations, such as the Lake station generator.
- Assist operators, consultants and contractors with installations, start-ups and general operations of stations.
- Provide on call services for after hour emergency services.

Transportation
- Maintain traffic control devices including pedestrian/traffic signals and control cabinets. Coordinate contractor maintenance and construction projects.
- Provide capital project upgrade suggestions and monitor operating budgets for traffic signals.
- Provide on call services for after hour services.

Communication
- Work in conjunction with IT services on planning and installation of citywide fibre network.
- Assist IT to install, maintain and troubleshoot Utilities fibre, Ethernet and wireless communications.
- Provide locating services for all citywide communications, fibre and underground electrical infrastructure in response to Alberta One Call.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.
- Minimum of two (2) years Process Control Experience.
- Red Seal Instrumentation or Post-secondary Diploma in Instrumentation Technology would be an asset.
- International Municipal Signal Association Traffic Signals 1 or equivalent would be an asset.
- Certificate in Utility Line locating would be an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.

HOURS OF WORK: Hours of work are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After-hours work may occasionally be assigned including emergency response.

ANNUAL SALARY: The City of Camrose offers competitive salary, attractive benefits, and a positive work environment. The starting salary for this position will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
