Employment Opportunity: Agricultural Foreman

Description:
As the Agricultural Foreman you will work on the front line assisting the Camrose County Agricultural Service Board with the implementation of its policies and its related programs. This is an important role providing advice to ratepayers and finding solutions for their individual needs.

Overview: You will serve as a frontline contact assisting ratepayers and producers with identification of crop, livestock, and horticultural pests or diseases. Provide a full range of vegetation control options for invasive species. Participate in the development and improvement of the Agricultural Services Department's processes and procedures. Coordinate the maintenance and repair of department equipment, including rental equipment. Assist the Seed Plant Manager with the maintenance and operation of seed cleaning equipment.

Requirements:
Proven customer service skills, drive and motivation. Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Clean driver's abstract and maintain a clean driving record. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to obtain a valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator's License. A strong mechanical background with cutting and welding experience. Ability to perform physical tasks that require climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

Preferred:
Related post-secondary education or training, 1 year or more supervisory experience, Class 3 drivers licence with air break endorsement.

Hours of Work: As per section six (6) Hours of Work of the Collective Agreement with I.U.O.E. local 955.

Salary Range: $24.69 - $30.01 per hour.

ENVIRONMENT & POLICY COORDINATOR
Camrose County is seeking an Environment & Policy Coordinator for the overall successful compliance of Camrose County operations with regards to internal policies and external regulatory authorities. While the focus of the Environment & Policy Coordinator will be split between internal operational policy and Environmental regulatory approvals, the overall goal will be to achieve efficient and productive operation in accordance with those internal policies while still adhering to any requirements of external regulators. Work could include applications to regulatory bodies, keeping up documentation on existing approvals and permits, developing and reviewing policies to ensure compliance, communicating issues to internal and external stakeholders, hiring consultants and contractors, and other duties as might be required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, develop, amend Camrose County policy as it pertains to operations or environmental or external regulatory requirements.
- Submit application for permits, approvals, variances, or other documentation as might required for compliance with applications to external stakeholders or regulators.
- Ensure that existing approvals, permits, variances or other documentation as might required for compliance with external stakeholders or regulators are kept up-to-date and all conditions of said documentation are being met.

Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree, and be a member in good standing with either Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA), Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB), Association of Science and Engineering Technology in Alberta (ASET), or Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists (APEGA). Over 10-years' experience in a directly comparable position could be considered in-lieu.
- Extensive experience writing technical reports and excellent communication skills.
- Technical competence, exceptional organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products. Additional skills in GIS or AutoCAD desirable.
- A minimum 5 years' experience in government, Consulting or Construction industry in relevant scope of work.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees and the public.
- Minimum Class 5 Driver's License.

Position: Full-time, paid vacation, benefits, local authority pension plan

CAMROSE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS GRAVEL & DRAINAGE SUPERINTENDENT

Camrose County is seeking a positive, motivated, dynamic, and experienced individual to join the Public Works team in a Gravel & Drainage Superintendent role. Reporting to the Manager of Public Works, the successful candidate will supervise and provide expertise on a variety of Camrose County operations and projects in relation to aggregate production and distribution as well as drainage for rural roads. In addition to the qualifications below, applicants should have the ability to multi-task several projects, work effectively with co-workers and the public, and communicate in a clear, concise, and effective manner both orally, and in written correspondence.


- Oversee all gravel related operations, including gravel exploration, crushing, hauling, planning
- Oversee all drainage related operations on rural roads, including culvert installation and management, ditching works, crew coordination
- Submit annual Capital and Operational budgetary information
- Ensure Camrose County projects and operations are aligned with regulatory authorities
- Prepare and review tender or request for proposal documents
- Review, develop, and provide expertise with regards to Public Works operations and policies
- Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders in varying capacities
- Survey gravel pits, stockpiles, drainage profiles or as otherwise needed for planning or volumes calculations
- Prepare information that may be presented to Council as it applies to operations and projects being overseen.

Qualifications:
- Experience in supervising staff for effective and efficient coordination of work
- Experience and practical knowledge as it relates to gravel crushing, gravel exploration, earthworks, culvert installation, grading projects, or other rural road works
- Experience with environmental applications, tender processes, first call and crossing agreement applications, and gravel volumes calculations, as well as other administrative functions is required
- Strong competency with computers. Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and Microsoft Office Programs are an asset
- Valid class 5 Driver's license
- Minimum GED, but applicable formalized technical training would be beneficial.

Labourer 3 - Utilities
The City of Camrose is seeking a 7-month seasonal Labourer 3. This is a temporary position in the Utilities section of the Public Works department. This position will be primarily responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Lagoons system. This is a unionized position under CUPE Local 1425.

FUNCTIONS:
- Perform operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Lagoons System. Duties will include, but are not limited to lab testing, wastewater sampling, lagoon treatment monitoring, irrigation and evaporation control, air quality testing, soil testing, piezometer monitoring, vegetation control, wastewater sampling and flow monitoring;
- Documentation management and record-keeping.
- Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 Diploma or GED.
- Understanding of compliance regulations with Alberta Environment and Parks and Environment Canada guidelines and approvals in regards to wastewater systems.
- High ability to understand and comprehend tested numbers and to perform work with accuracy.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team setting unsupervised.
- Work experience and formal training in water utilities and water testing would be considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.

HOURS OF WORK:
Hours of work include shift work that totals up to 80 hours every two weeks. Work shifts will vary and be on a rotating basis, including early morning, late evening, weekends, and statutory holidays.

HOURLY WAGE:
$23.52 per hour in accordance with CUPE 1425 Collective Agreement.

POLICE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (TEMPORARY SEASONAL)

The Camrose Police Service is accepting applications for two (2) temporary Police Support Technicians. The successful applicants will assist both civilian and sworn members of the police service with matters involving citizen complaints and investigations.

FUNCTIONS:
- Receive citizen front counter complaints, including collision reports.
- Perform a variety of investigative support tasks.
